Itinerary
Accommodation: Nairobi Tented Camp | Meals: D,B
Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO), you will be welcomed and a driver will take you to the camp at Nairobi National Park. Deep within a riverine forest, not far from Jomo Kenyatta Airport, Wilson Airport, and Nairobi, is a true wilderness experience. You will arrive into Kenya and get straight under canvas within a 30-minute of leaving the airport (depending on traffic). You will stay overnight at Nairobi Tented Camp, an authentic tented camp in the heart of Nairobi National Park.
Accommodation: Ol Donyo Wuas Lodge | Meals: B,L,D
After having an early breakfast, your driver will transfer you to Wilson Airport (WIL) for your 20-minute private charter heading to Ol Donyo Wuas Lodge at Chyulu Hills National Park. Your driver guide will meet you when you land and take you to the lodge in time for lunch.
Ol Donyo Wuas Lodge is a pioneer among safari lodges and a forerunner of sustainable tourism. By working with the local Maasai people, the lodge has been able to blend conservation and livelihood benefits. On the slopes of Chyulu Hills, this lodge blends contemporary and traditional design. To stay here is a chance to explore Africa in an uncommon way by horseback, 4-wheel drive, or in a hiding twenty paces from some of the largest elephants in the world. At Ol Donyo Wuas Lodge, you can enjoy a stunning location with a savannah at its feet stretching as far as the eye can see.
Accommodation: Borana Lodge | Meals: B,L,D
After breakfast, you will fly in a private charter north towards the equator to Borana Ranch where you will be met by your driver guide and taken to the lodge. There will be a chance to discuss with him about your itinerary for the next four days including a visit to Lewa Wildlife Conservancy with a picnic lunch. There, you will spend time with Borana Conservancy team doing a game drive, game walk, or horseback riding.
Borana Lodge is one of East Africa's original fully hosted, family-owned eco-lodges. This place is located within the vast area of Ewaso ecosystem on Laikipia Plateau. With snow-tipped peaks, the glaciers of Mount Kenya to the south, a panorama of mountains, and desert to the north, Borana Lodge provides an idyllic setting for any African experience. Home to the Dyer family for three generations, the ranch - 17 miles north of the equator and 6,000 feet above sea level - is free from the malarial mosquito and cool at nights.
Accommodation: Elephant Watch Camp | Meals: B,L,D
After breakfast, you will take a short charter flight to Samburu National Reserve where you will be met by your driver guide and driven into Elephant Watch Camp with game viewing en route. During lunch, you will discuss with your charming guide what your schedule for the next few days will be including meeting with Save the Elephant team at the research camp and learn about what they are doing.
This will be the ultimate in eco-luxury with an unrivaled wildlife experience. You can enjoy the camp and its surrounding plus immerse yourself in a luxury that is highly sensitive to the environment’s fragility. Eco-tourism plays an important role in helping preserve Africa’s threatened wildlife by providing a critical alternative livelihood for the people who share their land with animals. Money from eco-tourism allows wildlife areas to flourish and be kept pristine, creating jobs for local staffs and funding the schools of their children attendance which helps save wildlife.
Accommodation: Richard’s River Camp | Meals: B
After breakfast, you will be driven to the airstrip for your scheduled flight south to Maasai Mara National Reserve. Your guide will meet you and take you on a game drive to Richard’s River Camp. This camp which is now called Forest Camp was built as the home of the Roberts family in 1980 in the Ol Choro Conservancy located in the north-west of Maasai Mara. Your guide will discuss with you about what to do for the next few days. You will get up early to get the beautiful African light and catch the animals before they head off for the shade. Plans will also be made for you to meet Mara Elephant Project.
