After an early breakfast, continue your journey into the heart of Tanzania by heading west, towards the Serengeti Plains and you will have an option to stop and visit the Olduvai Gorge Archaeological Museum, the site of Louis and Mary Leakey’s renowned archaeological discoveries found en-route. Their findings include some of the man’s earliest known ancestral remains and then visit the ‘Shifting Sands’ area nearby which is an amazing volcanic sand dune phenomenon in the middle of the endless plains. You will also have an option to stop and visit a Maasai village located along the way. This will be an opportunity that will give you a chance to try and learn about this majestic warriors’ tribe. At the end, this long transfer cum game drive will give you a chance to relish the vastness of the Serengeti, "the land that flows on forever," along with some of the best game-viewing that Africa has to offer. You will spend some time that afternoon exploring the 'Kopjes' which are always teeming with the big cats in the game rich Central Serengeti area before heading on to the lodge to overnight. You will have an option to depart from the camp very early this morning for a Hot Air Balloon ride over the magnificent Serengeti and you will then enjoy the Champagne breakfast out in the wild on landing. This option could be booked and paid for directly at the camp. Otherwise you will go out for a spectacular full day game drive in the amazing park again, seeking out the plains game and many others that habituate the vast open plains. Home to literally hundreds of thousands of hoofed animals, the ‘Serengeti’ is a pristine and unique sanctuary that will give you a glimpse into “the world as it was in the beginning.” Late evening return to the same lodge to overnight. You will check out and depart from the lodge after an early breakfast and head back east towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will reach the area late that morning and descent down to the crater floor where you will visit the one of nature's true wonders - its collapsed volcanic crater is 12 miles in diameter and 2,000 feet deep. The fertile soil and lake attract a huge range of wildlife, and your tour there will seek to uncover them amongst the floor's forests, grasses and plains. You will have a full day game drive and a picnic lunch on one of the designated picnic sites. Here you have great chances of seeing the ‘Big 5’ including the endangered Black Rhino. Spend the morning and the afternoon in the crater floor enjoying the wildlife viewing and then depart in the early evening heading up the crater rim to the exquisite Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge to overnight. Facing the always magnificent sunsets to the west, and located at the highest point on Ngorongoro crater’s entire rim, this odge stands well over half a kilometre above the crater floor and offers unparalleled views across this enormous caldera. The lodge being located within the conservation area will give you a chance to enjoy the wonderful nature at the comfort of your lodge.

You will check out from the lodge after breakfast taking your packed lunches yet again and drive towards the town of Arusha. You will see many local villages located en-route and you will also be passing through the Great Rift’s escarpment and valley areas then pass the very scenic Maasai Steppe area again before reaching Arusha which is located about 3 hours. You will have a short town tour then have 1 hour road transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport ready for your flight out of Tanzania as pre-organized.
